Making Caramel Apples With the Family

Nicki had invited me to her church to make caramel apples. It was a nice night to meet new people and talk with ones that I already knew. While there I discovered how easy it was to make caramel apple and I had decided then that I wanted to do this for family day. Sooooo off to the store i went to buy caramel, apples, chocolate chips and candies to make them. I have had a hard time getting my oldest son zach involved in family day. I guess I just need to incorperate food more often.

Santika had fun dipping her apple!

Tyoaka had fun decorating!

While the whole family couldn't wait to sink their teeth in.It was one family day that will be share and be remembered for many years to come. With all the thanks to Nicki and her church that allowed me to be part of their night.

Fryburg Fair 09'

My mom gave me the money to
take the kids to the Fryburg Fair
this year. I hadn't been to that fair
in about 4 years. Miss Tyoaka and
Santika had never been to one.
What a blast they had!

Tyoaka loved the carousal horses.

Santika was a too short to go on all the
rides but a did manage to get her on a few!

My niece Amber wanted to take Tyoaka on the fun house. She had to help her through the whole thing. At the end Sarah had to go rescue Tyoaka because she got stuck in the balls at the end. I didn't get a picture of that. Darn!

E.J. even took the babies on rides.
I had a lot of help!

I knew it was time to go home
when I was seeing faces like this.
She got upset because she couldn't
go on the rides that Tyoaka was going on.

School in September 1823 (Norlands)

We took our girlscouts on a trip to Norlands to check out the 1823 school. The girls learned a little about life in that time. How boys and girls went to school. What kind of manners children had back then. Some new words and their meanings, Like lad meaning boy, britches meaning pants, outhouse meaning outdoor bathroom just to name a few. Some of the other things they was taught was that only unmarried women could be teachers. That at lunch a young lad would go and get water. Students of all ages went in the same classroom. Boys on one side girls on the other. Each group of girls had an assignment and had to get up in front of the whole class and recite their assingment.
In this picture is Tristan, Liz , Teagon, and Becky reciting their assingment.

Camp Good News

I volunteered my time at Camp Good News this year, think I was a bit crazy with taking the 3 girls by myself for a week. To my surprise it was a good week. I had a cabin all to myself with the babies. I didn't see much of Elizabeth all week so I didn't get many pictures of her. The babies had a blast at the nursery play ground. We did a lot of fun stuff. Learning about god was are main goal. Tyoaka wouldn't sit still for preschool bible time so needless to say we didn't do that. I worked in the store and delivered the mail. Those kiddos was very excited to get mail from their loved ones. Liz couldn't wait to get mail from her daddy,

I took some cute pictures of the girls sitting in the garden and smelling the flowers.

Tyoaka met a dear friend that she played with daily. Her name was Liberty
Tyoaka did arts and crafts and made a puppy dog hand puppet.
She found a little toad that she didn't want to give up. So we took it to the Ecology Hut to earn points for the nursery.

I AM the meanest mother in the world

This Poem was shared with me at work about 10 years ago when I was having a rough one. I have been looking for it ever sense, thank goodness for the internet. I think i am going to print it and hang it on the wall.

"The Meanest Mother in the World"

I had the meanest mother in the whole world. While other kids ate
candy for breakfast, I had to have cereal, eggs or toast. When others
had cokes and candy for lunch, I had to eat a sandwich. As you can
guess, my supper was different than the other kids' also.
But at least, I wasn't alone in my sufferings. My sister and two
brothers had the same mean mother as I did.

My mother insisted upon knowing where we were at all times. You'd
think we were on a chain gang. She had to know who our friends were and
where we were going. She insisted if we said we'd be gone an hour, that
we be gone one hour or less--not one hour and one minute. I am nearly
ashamed to admit it, but she actually struck us. Not once, but each
time we had a mind of our own and did as we pleased. That poor belt was
used more on our seats than it was to hold up Daddy's pants. Can you
imagine someone actualy hitting a child just because he disobeyed? Now
you can begin to see how mean she really was.

We had to wear clean clothes and take a bath. The other kids always
wore their clothes for days. We reached the height of insults because
she made our clothes herself, just to save money. Why, oh why, did we
have to have a mother who made us feel different from our friends?

The worst is yet to come. We had to be in bed by nine each night
and up at eight the next morning. We couldn't sleep till noon like our
friends. So while they slept-my mother actually had the nerve to break
the child-labor law. She made us work. We had to wash dishes, make
beds, learn to cook and all sorts of cruel things. I believe she laid
awake at night thinking up mean things to do to us.

She always insisted upon us telling the truth, the whole truth and
nothing but the truth, even if it killed us- and it nearly did.
By the time we were teen-agers, she was much wiser, and our life
became even more unbearable. None of this tooting the horn of a car for
us to come running. She embarrassed us to no end by making our dates
and friends come to the door to get us. If I spent the night with a
girlfriend, can you imagine she checked on me to see if I were really
there. I never had the chance to elope to Mexico. That is if I'd had a
boyfriend to elope with. I forgot to mention, while my friends were
dating at the mature age of 12 and 13, my old fashioned mother refused
to let me date until the age of 15 and 16. Fifteen, that is, if you
dated only to go to a school function. And that was maybe twice a year.

Through the years, things didn't improve a bit. We could not lie
in bed, "sick" like our friends did, and miss school. If our friends
had a toe ache, a hang nail or serious ailment, they could stay home
from school. Our marks in school had to be up to par. Our friends'
report cards had beautiful colors on them, black for passing, red for
failing. My mother being as different as she was, would settle for
nothing less than ugly black marks.

As the years rolled by, first one and then the other of us was put
to shame. We were graduated from high school. With our mother behind
us, talking, hitting and demanding respect, none of us was allowed the
pleasure of being a drop-out.

My mother was a complete failure as a mother. Out of four
children, a couple of us attained some higher education. None of us
have ever been arrested, divorced or beaten his mate. Each of my
brothers served his time in the service of this country. And whom do we
have to blame for the terrible way we turned out? You're right, our
mean mother. Look at the things we missed. We never got to
take part in a riot, burn draft cards, burn the flag, and a
million and one other things that our friends did.

She forced us to grow up into God-fearing, educated, honest adults.
Using this as a background, I am trying to raise my three
children. I stand a little taller and I am filled with pride when my
children call me mean.

Because, you see, I thank God, He gave me the meanest mother in the whole world.

A poem I found on Circle of Moms

My son came home from school one day, With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough, To put me in my place.
'Guess what I learned in Civics Two, that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today, The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'
It says I need not clean my room, Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think, Or speak, or what to wear...
I have freedom from religion, And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head, And I sure don't have to pray.
I can wear earrings if I want, And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like, Get tattoos from head to toe.
And if you ever spank me, I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up allmy charges, With the marks on my behind.
Don't you ever touch me, My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses, that's just more child abuse.
Don't preach about your morals, Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control, And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights, So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division, Better known as C.S.D.'

Mom's Reply and Thoughts:
>
Of course my first instinct was To toss him out the door.
But the chance toteach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.
I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face, he's messing with a pro.

Next day I took him shopping At the local Goodwill Store.
I told him, 'Pick out all you want, there's shirts & pants
galore.

I've called and checked with C.S.D ...
Who said they didn't care If Ibought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.
I've canceled that appointment To take your driver's test.
The C..S.D. Is unconcerned So I'll decide what's best.
I said 'No time to stop and eat Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn To make your own
sack lunch.
Just save the raging appetite, And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions, A favorite dish of mine.'
He asked 'Can I please rent a movie, To watch on my VCR?'
'Sorry, but I sold your TV, For new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room, You'll take the couch instead.
The C .S.D. Requires Just a roof over your head.
Your clothing won't be trendy now, I'll choose what we eat.
that allowance that you used to get Will buy me something neat.
I'm selling off your jet ski, Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!

Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.S.D..?'

Franklin Zoo In Mass.

We took our girls scouts to the Franklin Zoo,and what a wonderful time they had.So much fun that we were late getting them home.(sorry moms).

Liz sat in front of the window looking at Christopher the Lion and Nicki got a picture of her reflection in the window making it look like she was sitting right next to him.

Elizabeth and Becky are in separable when we go on outings, they hang together no matter what they do in life. Best cousins, best buds.

Here's Elizabeth touching the boa constrictor and me right behind her (for the first time in my life) touching a snake. EWWWWWW! What a shiver I got, take a look at my face. TOO FUNNY!
Thanks Nicki for catching that moment cause it one moment you will never see again! I am all set on touching a snake. Its a good thing Girl scouts are Courageous and Strong! I lived up to that law.

Are you a Dreamer or a Doer?

You Are a Doer

You are primarily concerned with what is actual. You tend to be a practical person. You love to stay busy, and you are always immersed in projects.
You are in touch with your senses, and you enjoy indulging them. You're likely a crafter of some sort. You crave different sensations in life, whether it's working with your hands, playing sports, or eating your favorite meal.

Surprise to Shirley

Lloyd's step mothers birthday is on the 4th of May. So we decided to through her a surprise party the day we celebrated Santika's. She was not very happy with us, but it was fun anyways.
The kids loved wanted to present Grammy with the cake. It was not very easy to get Shirley to stop helping out so we could get her cake ready. In laws can be a PIA (Pain in Butt) sometimes.

Santika Turns One!

Well our baby turned 1 today! and she had a little people cake .
She really enjoyed opening her presents,

She got a few cuddly toys
and a few bath ones. She also got 8 new outfits
(which she needed desperately).
When it came time for the
cake she dug right in,
and as you can see

by her face she absolutely loved it!

What kind Fast Food Am I? hmmm

You Are a Burger
You are a down to earth person and a straight shooter. You don't fall for fads or trends.
You are stable and a bit old fashioned. Tradition and loyalty are important to you.

You are a good friend and you like to have a good time. You find it easy to kick back.
You're not one to make waves in life. You're happy just to be a part of the fun.

Mommy and Me Day!

Well I decided it was time for a mommy and me day for Tyoaka.
Her and I never really get a chance for that to happen because of her younger sister which is only 17 months younger.
So anyway I took her to the Shriner's circus in Augusta on Friday.
Supper was on the lawn of the civic center. She loved the clowns and couldn't get enough of them. Everytime she walked by them, she had her hand out, to get one of their cards they were giving out.

She was very proud of the lady bug bracelet that Turkey Lips made her!
The lion and tigers were another of her favorite things, She tried to go under the yellow caution tape to see the "nice" kiki (kitty inTyoaka's language)I have to say I think she did an excellent job for a 2 year and a two hour show.
She sat for most of the two hours with the exception of needing to go icky( bathroom again Tyoaka's language) twice. She watched the tight rope walkers, the rope ballerina's, the magic show. What can I say she was great.

SNOW,SNOW,SNOW!

Well the night Lloyd's gram decided to leave us and go home to our heavenly father. We were experiencing power outages due to this whopper of a snow storm. With a total of 20 inches in my area. It was so crazy! We couldn't even open the door to our house.

The trees was so heavy. They were leaning in my house.
If they weren't laying on the ground. (Lazy things LOL)
Lloyd's plow truck was a mountain of. How was he going to even plow all this lovely white stuff? As you can see from the top of the truck the snow was enormously high. He had to Shovel a lot before he could plow.
The Pineau street sign was even under snow!

There is one person that definitely enjoyed the day. Tyoaka couldn't wait to go out and play in the snow. Even though she couldn't stand up in it , because it went up to her waist. She seemed to enjoyed it anyway.

Murphy's Still Here

Well here is my update.
About a week ago we thought my mom was clear of cancer, when she went to the cancer specialist to find out the surgeon didn't even remove the cancerous tissue. The tissue he actually removed was non cancerous. So she has to go through the surgery again. Although the doctor said that there is a good chance for removal because she is still in stage one, she has to have all ten lympnoids out (which the other doctor said was fine dumb again). My mom is worried about having a big arm rather then being cancer free.
I have been sick for about ten days and have been out of work since last Monday and Lloyd has been out of work off and on for two weeks ( more off then on) due to his Grandmother that has finally past away this morning during our big snow storm and losing power. I guess she didn't want us to forget her last night of being with us. Well at least she not suffering anymore.
I have my Financial peace reunion tomorrow and I kinda excited because I am one step closer to moving Murphy out of my home. BABY STEP ONE is done !!!!!! Step two here I come. Debt free except for the house.

Road trip test

The Road Trip Test
You Take the Road Everyone Travels
You see life as precious and special. Heritage and family are very important to you.Your life is quite hectic. You try to slow down when you can, but it's not easy! You don't like a lot of risk or randomness in your life. You prefer to stick with what's known, even if it's a bit boring. You tend to be a workaholic. You overwork yourself without ever realizing it and sometimes suffer the consequences later. In another life, you could have been a great artist. You trust your creative instincts enough to let them lead you.

What kind of Cookie Are you?

What Girl Scout Cookie Are You?-->
You Are Peanut Butter Sandwiches / Do-si-dos
You are easy going and naturally happy. You don't need a lot to make you smile. You genuinely care about people and are a great friend. You're always doing your best to make the world a better place.Even though there isn't an immature bone in your body, you still are like a big kid sometimes. Why make life complicated when the best parts are actually quite simple? You enjoy the small joys of life.

Murphy needs to move OUT!!!!!

Well my last few weeks have been kinda stressful. On January 22 we found out my mom had breast cancer, I was sure to tell my mom that everything would be o.k.( I prayed it would anyway). Of coarse mom was afraid of the worst. She went in for surgery that following Tuesday and the Dr.'s don't believe it spread to her lympnoids (thank you god)., so the doctor just removed the lump and said she would have to go see a cancer specialist. So for know we have that behind us. Then last Friday we heard my husbands Grandmother had cancer. Doctors did say that they could do surgery ,but gram said she didn't want to, " I am ready to go home to be with the lord just let me die". So being in the medical field I say to my husband that I didn't think she would make it back to the nursing home or even for the weekend for that matter. Well she did make through the weekend but not back to the nursing home. they were planning on moving her on Monday when she took a turn for the worse. I got a call at work saying they didn't think she would make it through the day. so i get out of work to relieve my sister-in-law from babysitting duties so her and Lloyd could go down and be with Gram. Well all was good until I went to girl scouts and went to leave and my Starter seized up. Thank god Nikki stick around to help. she tried to give my a boost in below freezing weather to no avail. She took my nieces home and the god lord must have been there with us because Tracy and Bunny was still up stairs and Bunny gave Lorilee , Liz and I ride home so Liz and I didn't have to stay in the cold. I called AAA in the morning to have it towed home. I then took Lloyd to work with his car and came home for a few hours and then back up to Wal-Mart to get him when on the way home the timing belt went on the car. So AAA comes to the rescue again. Know we have no car until we get one fixed. That's o.k because in a few day we will have our emergency fund and Murphy will be OUTTA here!!!!!

Parents Do the Darnest Things

"Zach what do you want for Christmas we would say" and the answer we would get is" a X-box 360". Then would come the explanation of Zach we cannot afford that. Well then don't buy me anything just give me money and I'll will save up to get myself one. I would say "now Zach we can't do that because Santa has to give you something he don't just bring money". Zach would say Well then I'll just return everything to get the money to wards my 360. So I guess he really wants a 360. So we go down to my mom's and she asks that same dreaded question and the same answer applies to her also. I say Zach Don't be asking Grammy for that you Know that She can't afford that. again BLAH BLAH BLAH. So know what am I going to do, I say tho Lloyd "we cant get this for him". Lloyd says just give him the money. Well then I guess the Good lord was listening because A week before Christmas mom gets a big check and calls me up to say We are going Shopping for a Xbox 360, So I met her in Auburn to Best Buy to get into an argument with the store manager( a blog for another time). To make a long story short we ended up going to Wal-mart to buy it. So because Zach was a pain in the beehive about this 360 we decided we would play a little prank on him. And when I figure out how the upload the video you will see how this story ends. Sorry my hands are tired from typing.

Favorite Picture

Thanks Nikki

Well Thanks to Nikki , She told me how to delete a post that I did way back in July that I didn't want as a post and I couldn't figure out how to delete it. Thanks Nikki. I am such a computer illiterate. But I'm getting there . Maybe some day I'll get to blog more. So until then, those of you that read my blog, good luck.
